EDI Health Group (DBA DentalXChange) is a premier provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) services in the dental industry and a leader in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) — connecting providers, partners, and payers for thousands of dental practices across the United States. Trundl migrated its aging on-premises Jira and Confluence Server to Atlassian Cloud Premium, moving 71 projects and 50,000+ issues with zero data loss.
Upgrading the on-premise environment (MSSQL and Jira versions) as a stepping stone for a clean migration.
Migrating all 71 Jira Software projects and 6 Confluence spaces with high fidelity.
Maintaining access and permissions for 740+ users while implementing SSO.
Leveraging Atlassian Cloud Premium features to improve dental RCM workflows.
Intermediate upgrades of MSSQL and Jira (to LTS 9.12.12) in a sandbox to ensure compatibility before the final Cloud transition.
Rigorous test migrations and User Acceptance Testing to identify and mitigate functionality gaps or data risks.
Managed the transition of critical apps (Jira Suite Utilities, Database Values, etc.), finding Cloud-equivalents or custom solutions.
A high-precision weekend migration (Jira Sept 28–30; Confluence Oct 19) to eliminate mid-week business disruption.
A meticulous runbook ensured all 50,714 issues and 119 custom fields were accurately mapped and migrated.
Initiated late June 2024, full production closure by late October 2024 — strictly on timeline.
Specialized training for admins and users so DentalXChange could immediately use Cloud Premium.
